What is the AB Tee made of?
The AB Tee by Intersect Collection is made from 95% premium Giza Egyptian cotton and 5% Lycra, in a 185gsm mid-weight jersey. Giza cotton is a long-staple Egyptian cotton known for softness and durability. The fabric contains zero polyester, breathes naturally, has 4-way stretch, and is tagless for itch-free wear.
What's so special about Egyptian cotton?
Egyptian cotton โ especially Giza varieties grown in the Nile Delta โ is prized for its extra-long staple fibers. Longer fibers spin into smoother, stronger, finer yarns, which is why Egyptian cotton tees feel softer, resist pilling and thinning, and hold their shape longer than regular short-staple cotton. The AB Tee uses 95% Giza cotton with zero polyester in a 185gsm jersey.
Does the AB Tee shrink?
The AB Tee is pre-shrunk and shrinks minimally โ about 3% on a low-heat dryer setting. To keep its fit and shape, machine wash cold (30ยฐC) with like colors, air dry or tumble dry on low heat, and never use bleach or harsh softeners. Avoid washing it with heavy or zipped items.
Is the AB Tee comfortable if I have sensitive skin?
Yes. The AB Tee is completely tagless โ no sewn-in label rubbing at the neck โ and it's made from 95% Giza cotton with zero polyester. The long-staple cotton is naturally soft and breathable, with 4-way stretch from 5% Lycra, so there's nothing to itch, scratch, or irritate sensitive skin.
Do polyester t-shirts smell worse than cotton?
Yes. Research has found that polyester t-shirts hold on to sweat odor more than cotton ones โ odor-causing bacteria grow better on polyester, and its fibers attract oily sweat compounds that don't fully release in the wash the way cotton does. That's one reason the AB Tee by Intersect Collection is made from 95% Giza Egyptian cotton with zero polyester: breathable natural fabric that doesn't trap odor.
